The Variety Boat for Hope 2008 Presented by Pharmasave give children with special needs a fun-filled day on the water this Saturday, June 7th, 2008 in Victoria's Inner Harbour. Parents and caregivers will also be able to enjoy a fun and relaxing day. The event raises funds for Variety - The Children's Charity. Since it began, The Variety Boat for Hope has raised over $500,000 to help families and children.
The event includes a water even with boaters generously donating their time and boats to take the young pirates on a charted treasure hunt through the surly waters of Victoria's harbour, a land event with a barbeque lunch carnival games, and other activities as well as a final Acknowledgement Banquet to recognize the hard work that makes Variety Boat for Hope possible.

The Relay For Life 2008 comes to Greater Victoria and the western communities June 13th and 14th. The event takes place at the Juan De Fuca Recreation Velodrome. Join in the Relay For Life run to raise funds to support the Canadian Cancer Society, support research and services for those living with cancer and help everyone else in the fight against cancer. The 16th Annual Peninsula Co-Op Charity Golf Classic comes to the Olympic View Golf Course on Friday, June 13th. The event helps raise funding for the Victoria Epilepsy and Parkinson's Centre, expanding tutoring services for children and teens with significant learning challenges due to epilepsy. Funds raised will also be used to exapand services and increase outreach to isolated Parkinson's patients. Victoria Riding for the Disabled Association Has Volunteer Opportunities
Providing therapy on horseback for children and adults with disabilities with classes held on Tuesday-Thursday mornings and afternoons; volunteers must be good with people and enjoy horses. No experience is necessary (training is provided) but volunteers must be 16 years of age or older.
