It used to be kind of a big deal when an artist did a cover tune. You either loved it, or hated it — and many critics were hard on the covers.

Today, thanks to the ability to share their performances online, artists do covers all the time. I think it’s often the ultimate tribute between artists that respect each other.  Hozier’s Take Me To Church was a massively popular and powerful song — and it only stands to reason that many artists are inspired by it. Hence all the covers.
