You’ve been wondering exactly when you might get a glimpse of The Royal Tour 2016 in BC, here are the details for the public appearances for Victoria:

Saturday, September 24th  

  • BC Legislature Arrival of the Royal couple in Victoria on Saturday, Sept. 24th with a public ceremony – 5:05pm
  • This will be the official welcome to Their Royal Highnesses on their arrival to British Columbia and Canada and give the people of Victoria an opportunity to see The Royal Couple.
  • Honour Canadian military service by acknowledging a new plaque commemorating the Afghanistan mission and laying a wreath at the cenotaph located in front of the Parliament Buildings
  • Lekwungen Traditional Dancers and Esquimalt Singers an Dancers (Songhees and Esquimalt Nation)
  • The Royal Couple will sign British Columbia’s distinguished visitor’s book and the Government of Canada’s Golden Book
  • Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Sophie Grégoire Trudeau will attend
  • The Royal couple’s children, George and Charlotte will not attend

Saturday, October 1st

11:45am (approximately)       

Prince William and the Duchess will leave Ogden Point on Tall Ship Pacific Grace, visible from Breakwater area.

12:30pm  

The Royal couple will arrive by Tall Ship at Ship Point, heading back to Government House shortly after their arrival.

3:40pm

Official departure of the Royal Family as they leave Victoria by float plane from the lower Wharf Street parking lot at Harbour Air Terminal.

This is the best opportunity to catch a glimpse of the children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, as the family boards a seaplane in Victoria’s Inner Harbour for their official departure from the Royal Visit 2016.

There will be private events with the Cridge Centre and Kelty Mental Resources Centre that morning.

  • Ogden Point

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife Sophie Grégoire Trudeau be part of the official welcome at the BC Legislature in Victoria on Saturday, Sept. 24th along with BC Premier Christy Clark. Trudeau will be one of the distinguished guests at a Government House reception that evening. Government House and it’s grounds are closed to the public during the Royal Tour as the family will be staying at the house while in Victoria.

Opportunities to see the children are limited, and may be only at the official departure from Canada as the Royal family board a seaplane in Victoria’s Inner Harbour on October 1st at 3:40pm. They will spend their time enjoying the house and grounds of Government House while their parents travel and attend official events.

Other appearances by the Royal couple will be by invite only, ask around — you may find that someone you know will be having a brush with royalty.

  • Government House reception with invited guests — including members of the Order of British Columbia, philanthropists, First Nations leaders, youth leaders and veterans
  • Tea-party at Government House with invited guests — families from the Esquimalt Military Family Resource Centre, which is an independent not-for-profit organization that provides program and services to military members and their families. The party will feature youth members and their animals from the local 4-H club, entertainers and activities for children.
  • Visit to the Cridge Centre for Family
  • A sailing demostration with Sail and Life Training Society SALTS
  • Meeting with jack.org
  • Meeting with Kelty Mental Health Resources Centre
