Polar Bear Pets Sled Dog (VIDEO)

David De Meulles caught the video of a lifetime when he saw an enormous polar bear walk up to a sled dog and start “petting” him. He was born in Churchill, Manitoba, had encountered polar bears and even heard that they can be friendly with dogs — but he’s never seen anything like this.

These interactions are not uncommon at the Mile 5 Dog Sanctuary in Churchill, where there’s been some other friendly interactions between the huskies and polar bears in this area.

Update: Unfortunately, it seems that the owner was feeding the bears and the dogs have been put in a vulnerable position.

Conservation officers do not recommend feeding endangered wildlife.
