Distracted Driving

As we flip the calendar to MARCH and admire that beautiful beach, we also say hello to Distracted Driving Awareness Month.

This month we shift our awareness to distracted driving and some of the rules designed to keep our roads safe. Greater Victoria Police will be out checking to make sure that motorists are being safe on the roads throughout the month.

BC’s fines for Distracted Driving:

First Distracted Driving ticket: $368 + $175 ICBC Penalty Point premium

Second infraction: $368 + $520 ICBC penalty points (in the same year)

School Zones: 

Fines are steep, make sure you know where school zones are to keep kids safe.
