The best part of Monday mornings is waking up to a steaming hot pile of Fun Finder blog! Sometimes I sleep in until 3-4 PM just so I can start my day that way!

Last weekend was absolutely fantastic, there were so many amzing opportunities to give back to a fantastic and fun community. I’m always looking for ways to pay back the city of Victoria since it’s so good to me, but it’s rare that opportunities like Coats on the Bus fall right into my lap. I had such a fantastic time working with the Coats4Kids volunteers, and makes me all warm inside knowing that I helped make Victoria’s underprivleged youth a little warmer on the outside!

There was also another family Sunday at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria this weekend, that’s another fantastic cause, thank goodness Victoria has such a vibrant arts and culture scene! Their current exhibit is featuring one of Victoria’s most prominent local artists, the brilliant Emily Carr, local legend and feminist icon! Carr has been dead for nearly 80 years of course, but her West Coast landscapes and Aborignal-inspired artwork continues to delight and embolden new generations of marginalized artists. No jokes here, I just think that’s super cool.

This is getting a liiiiiiiittle verbose for your friendly (and usually monosyllabic) neighborhood fun finder, so I’ll wrap it up by saying Fill Up Friday at the Esquimalt Rec Centre was a blast, the Mobility Expo in Centennial Square was breath of Low Emission air, I tried my first Pumpkin Spice Latte at Starbucks (:o) and right now, I’m on my way to pick up a delish package of cupcakes (from Cupcakes at Uptown) for my trip to Fear on the Pier tonight! If you’re headed to Victoria’s spookiest haunted house tonight, make sure to stop by and say hi, maybe I’ll have some cupcakes left to….sweeten the deal!

That last joke actually physically hurt me to type so check out the pictures after the link and I’ll see you next week!

As always, an enormous #OceanFamily thanks to Cupcakes at UptownMoxie’s, Monk OfficeWestshore Town Centre and Campus Nissan!
