Hey-o!

Finding fun is definitely a little easier when 2019 decides to start us off with the nicest January of all time, ever. The weather has been so unbelievably beautiful that I think spring came early, which means real January is lurking out there, watching, waiting for us to lower our guard before it SLAPS us with its winter-y wrath, plunging us into a frigid, unforgiving barren hell-scape without warmth, mercy, or even hope.

Sounds totally lame! Let’s try and have some fun before THAT happens, amiright?

I spent most of the weekend outdoors enjoying the weather, especially the Harriers Pioneers 8K. There was some top-tier talent, including Natasha Wodak (who has the record for Canadian 8K races) and Rachel Cliff (who has the record for Canadian half-marathons). Somehow I managed to squeeze my way in with this very talented crowd and snap a few fun pics. I also swung by Orange Theory Fitness for a bit of pre-race training, but the highlight of my weekend was the Fun Finder Safari, wherein I hit up some of my favourite Victoria locales, including the Esquimalt Lagoon, Mt. Tolmie, the Breakwater Lighthouse and Mile 0. It was a lovely tour of Southern Vancouver Island, and I managed to snap some fantastic pics. You should check them out after the jump!

Thanks for reading, and, as always, an enormous #OceanFamily thanks to Cupcakes at UptownMoxie’s Grill and Bar, Monk OfficeWestshore Town Centre and Campus Nissan!
