Even though Mother Nature toyed with our emotions with some changing weather conditions, it was a fantastic fall weekend!

We kicked off Saturday with TP the Town.  The Fun Finder hung out with the awesome volunteers at the Save On Foods location at Fort and Foul Bay and helped collect toilet paper and feminine products for The Mustard Seed.  Over 22 grocery store locations from Save On Foods, Thrifty’s, and Country Grocer helped by hosting donation stations and dropping prices on those necessities.

The Scouts were also out fundraising at local grocery stores – they were handing out apples and fundraising for their summer Scout Camp in Sooke.

The Food Rescue Challenge was a taste of heaven Saturday afternoon!  Robin and her team from The Marina Restaurant attempted to defend their title but it was AJ and his team from The Victoria Golf Club that prevailed!  At the end of the day, The Mustard Seed and Rotary Club were the big winners for hosting such a great fundraiser.

Sunday morning started off with a dance-off style warm-up at Victoria’s CIBC Run for the Cure.  Over 1500 runners and walkers participated in the 1km and 5km challenges.  The event raised over $250,000!!! Great job everyone!

Sunday afternoon finished off near the Sidney waterfront.  Gorgeous weather, sailboats on the horizon, and sea creatures that you can pet!  At the Shaw Centre for the Salish Sea, we were able to get up close with some amazing animals that you normally see in the wild.

Next weekend, we are diving into full Fall activities!  You can catch the Ocean 98.5 Fun Finder at Pumpkin Fest at Galey Farms, the Victoria Goodlife Marathon, and supporting various Girl Guide teams around the city.  Come join us!  We will help you find the fun!!
