Welcome back, ya hosers!

It’s a-boot time for another puck-slapping, ice-sliding, glove-dropping edition of the Fun Finder blog! Talk about power plays!

I really hope you had the chance to make it down to CFB Esquimalt for Roger’s Hometown Hockey, I can’t even remember the last time I had this much fun (or free pizza) at an event! The highlight of the weekend was probably visits from Canadian legend (and suspected Bigfoot) Don Cherry, as well as Ron McLean and Tara Slone, who  broadcast Coach’s Corner and their pregame show from the base, before hosting a viewing party on Sunday.

For some reason, hockey was on everyone’s mind all weekend as they watched the Hockey Circus, slammed the Slapshot Challenge, zoomed through the Zamboni Race, marveled at the flaming hockey stick juggling, and, of course, watched the Montreal Canadiens take on the Florida Panthers at the excellent viewing party. I got pics of A LOT of this stuff, but you should really check out our social media if you want to see more! The Ocean Family was snapping pics all weekend!

Additionally, I got to team up with our sweetest sponsor for Valentine’s Day- Cupcakes at Uptown helped us hand out a boatload of mini-cupcakes to love-struck couples across the CRD! There were so many smiles, it was hard to pick a favourite, but Island Floor Centre took the best picture of me, so that’s the one I’m sharing!

Check out the pictures after the jump!

Thanks for reading, and, as always, an enormous #OceanFamily thanks to Cupcakes at UptownMoxie’s Grill and Bar, Monk OfficeWestshore Town Centre and Campus Nissan!

See you next week!
