Hey there Ocean fans!

Happy Easter! It was a beautiful Easter weekend here on the little island we call home. The sun was here to stay (most of the time), which made it perfect weather for Easter Egg Hunts! Who doesn’t love a good Easter Egg Hunt, right?

This past Saturday I had the privilege of taking in the annual Neal Estate Team Easter Egg Hunt at Beaver Lake Park! I had never been until this year, but I can see why it’s a staple of the Victoria Easter scene. There were thousands upon thousands of eggs hidden all over the park! On top of that, they had face painting, snacks, and a whole bunch of other fun activities. The Easter Bunny even made an appearance! We had a colouring table set up again, because everyone loves colouring! It was really popular too, so many families went home with some new fun Easter-themed art! Who knew there were so many budding young artists in Victoria? Big shout out to Ron Neal and his team for organizing such a cool event year after year. I already can’t wait until next year!

Sunday was a big day for us as well! First, Kate and I stopped by City Centre Park in Langford for their family Easter festivities. They filled the multi-sports facility with bouncy castles and other inflatable games. They also had an incredibly popular face painting table, and delicious Easter sugar cookies from Thrifty Foods! There was also a man in, what looked like a fully functional Iron Man costume!

Later in the afternoon, Kate and I went over to the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria for their Family Sunday. Something you need to know about me is that I LOVE art galleries. I couldn’t draw if my life depended on it, but I definitely geek out over incredible artwork. There was some absolutely beautiful art on display at the Gallery, and I loved every minute of it. The activities for Family Sundays were really cool too! There was print making, collaborative sculpture building, crafts, and a presentation by special guest, Missy Haynes! Missy is a music educator in Aboriginal education, and she gave an incredible and informative performance on traditional aboriginal music and language! Did you know the Quw’utsun word for ‘Frog’ is Wuxus? (pronounced Wuckus)

Fun was definitely found this weekend. I can’t wait to see what the next weekend brings
