Victoria-based filmmaker Patricia Sims joined Rob Michaels to talk about her latest film with Michael Clark “When Elephants Were Young.” It’s playing at the Victoria Film Festival which kicks off today.

WHEN ELEPHANTS WERE YOUNG, a documentary by Victoria-based filmmakers Patricia Sims and Michael Clark is narrated by William Shatner. It explores people’s relationships with elephants in Thailand. Sims’ camera follows Wok, a mahout (or elephant guardian) and his elephant Nong Mai as they perform for tourists on the streets of Bangkok. Nong Mai has been in the family for a decade and the opportunity arises to release her into the wild.
