WATCH: Baby CPR from St. John Ambulance

What would you do if your baby stopped breathing? It’s difficult to think about, but if the worst case scenario occurs you need to be prepared.  St. John Ambulance is teaching parents how to perform baby CPR with this adorable and informative musical video.

Humpty Dumpty, Jack and Jill and other puppet friends come together to make a catchy nursery rhyme about baby CPR. First the puppets advise parents to call an ambulance. The tune then outlines the steps you should take while waiting for help:

• Place the baby on a flat surface
• Tilt her head back
• Cover her month and nose with your mouth
• Give five puffs of air
• Use two fingers in the middle of her chest to pump 30 times
• Repeat this with two puffs and 30 pumps till help arrives

The video ends with “Remember the song, in case things go wrong. Share this film.” So share this with every parent, grandparent and caregiver you know. It could save a life.
