Mummy-wrapped jalapeño poppers recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 12 jalapeño peppers
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 12 slices of bacon, cut in half
  • 24 candy eyeballs
  • 1 tube of refrigerated crescent dough
  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cut the jalapeño peppers in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes.
  3. In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese and shredded cheddar cheese until well combined.
  4. Fill each jalapeño half with the cheese mixture.
  5. Wrap each stuffed jalapeño with a half slice of bacon, leaving a small gap near the top for the mummy’s “eyes.”
  6. Place the wrapped jalapeños on the lined baking sheet and bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the jalapeños are tender.
  7. While the jalapeños are baking, prepare the mummy wrappings. Unroll the crescent dough and press the seams together to form a solid sheet.
  8. Using a sharp knife, cut the dough into thin strips.
  9. Once the jalapeños are done, let them cool slightly. Place two candy eyeballs on the gap you left earlier for the “eyes.”
  10. Take the thin strips of crescent dough and wrap them around the bacon-wrapped jalapeños to resemble mummy bandages, leaving the “eyes” exposed.
  11. Brush the mummy-wrapped jalapeños with the beaten egg to give them a shiny finish.
  12. Place them back in the oven for another 5-10 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and cooked through.
  13. Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
